Hey, what's up?
00:05
I'm Jhene Aiko, and today,
00:07
I'm gonna be showing you guys how I do my daytime
00:10
everyday makeup look.
00:11
My first step, work on my eyebrows.
00:14
Sometimes it'll take me literally like 30 minutes
00:18
just on my eyebrows just 'cause I feel like it's,
00:20
for me, the most important part.
00:25
The biggest challenges for me
00:26
is making sure that they're even.
00:29
We've all heard that eyebrows are cousins, or is it...
00:33
What is it?
00:34
Sisters, not twins, sorry.
00:38
I think that's good, and next, I do my eyeshadow.
00:42
I believe this is the OG Naked palette.
00:45
I really love the names of these,
00:46
and I'm one of those people that picks a nail polish
00:50
because of the name.
00:52
One of these is called Hustle, and when I'm doing shows,
00:56
you know, I'm hustlin', I'm working.
00:58
So, I kinda mix Hustle and Toasted together.
01:02
I'm gonna start with Buck.
01:05
I just sweep it across the eyelid to the outer corner
01:09
and just build it up just a little.
01:11
It just adds a little depth to my eyes.
01:17
Dab each one just a little bit,
01:20
then I put it under so it creates
01:23
kinda like an ombre from the bottom to the top.
01:29
And the reason why I do the eyes first
01:32
is because with a concealer,
01:33
I can clean up anything that has, you know,
01:37
fallen and I can sort of shape it.
01:40
I'll show you what I'm talking about.
01:42
So, I use Pro Conceal, and it's actually really inexpensive.
01:46
So, I have this little palette.
01:48
You can sort of mix it up and thin it out
01:51
before you put it on yourself.
01:52
It just makes for a smoother application.
01:56
Then I take a concealer brush and sort of just...
02:03
And when you put less on your little palette,
02:06
then you use less.
02:09
And then I sort of go in on my nose, just on the sides,
02:13
to create that shape that I want.
02:17
I don't like to cover my freckles and stuff like that,
02:22
so I just do it as light as possible.
02:25
I go in with my Beauty Blender,
02:28
and I also wet it just a little.
02:32
Whoops.
02:34
Just want it to have a little moisture
02:36
to keep my undereye from drying out,
02:40
and then I sort of just go in and blend it.
02:46
I'm starting to look prettier,
02:48
so that means this is going good (laughs).
02:51
Now, I'm gonna do my foundation.
02:53
I use NARS Sheer Glow in Syracuse.
02:56
Make sure you have your pump so you don't waste any product.
03:00
I go back to my little palette and just do a few pumps,
03:04
just a little bit.
03:05
So, what I like about this foundation
03:07
is that it's pretty sheer,
03:09
but you can also build it up if you want more coverage.
03:12
I like to put it on super thin
03:14
so that my skin can still shine through.
03:20
Then I just take the foundation and sort of clean up
03:24
the top of the eyebrow.
03:28
Nami gets into my makeup.
03:30
She'll be 10 this year.
03:32
A few Halloweens ago, she was Cleopatra,
03:36
and I did her makeup, and I let her keep the makeup.
03:39
So, every now and then,
03:41
she'll walk out with a bunch of bronzer on,
03:45
and I'm always just telling her you don't need that.
03:48
Contour.
03:53
I like to just follow my natural curves of my face.
04:00
For my nose, I literally buy this palette
04:03
just to use this color.
04:06
I kinda blend the two.
04:11
I like to create a little button nose.
04:14
Do a little circle at the point, at the...
04:16
I don't know, whatever that's called.
04:19
This took me a while to get right.
04:22
It would look right in photoshoots and stuff,
04:24
but in person, it would just look like, girl,
04:26
(chuckles) what are you doing?
04:30
Alright, the contour is done,
04:32
and this is what adds that glow.
04:37
Then I use my finger.
04:39
Here's a trick,
04:41
and I go right here on the ball of my nose
04:45
to give it a cute little boop,
04:48
and a little bit in the middle.
04:54
So, it just creates more definition, I guess.
04:59
You see?
04:59
Okay, it's coming together.
05:01
Then I use the same highlighter
05:04
and I also use it under the eyebrow.
05:11
I'm gonna set this so that I don't get oily and greasy
05:15
with Laura Mercier translucent powder.
05:19
So, this is my favorite brush.
05:22
So, I kind of just pat it lightly.
05:26
When I'm wearing makeup days in a row,
05:29
my skin gets super congested and just doesn't like it.
05:32
When I'm around the people that know me the best,
05:35
I don't wear any makeup, even my boyfriend.
05:37
I'm just like you know how I look at this point.
05:41
So,
05:45
where is it?
05:46
I'm pretty messy down here (laughs).
05:49
I'm gonna take the same pencil that I did my eyebrows with
05:52
and I'm gonna use it sort of as an eyeliner.
05:57
Sorta extend it.
05:59
The reason why I like using this
06:00
is because it's super precise
06:04
and just creates some drama.
06:06
Then I go into the outer corner
06:08
and just smoke it out a little bit.
06:12
This is not as defined as the inner corner.
06:17
Oh, these angles are cray cray.
06:20
A little shimmer.
06:25
Gonna blend it out just a little bit,
06:28
then I'm gonna add just a little to the inner corner,
06:33
just right here.
06:35
Mascara.
06:38
This is called Eyeko, and I had never heard of it,
06:42
but I was like it's perfect
06:44
because it sounds like my middle name,
06:47
which a lot of people don't know.
06:48
My middle name is Aiko, it's not my last name.
06:52
I am not very picky when it comes to mascara,
06:55
so I'll use any mascara.
06:57
I just like to use it on the, you know, the tip.
07:01
I don't comb through my eyelash with it.
07:04
My bottom lashes are super long.
07:08
I don't really like to wear lipstick all the time.
07:12
I find that it dries my lips out,
07:14
so I like to use lip gloss
07:17
and just let my natural pink lip show.
07:20
This is my favorite.
07:21
My favorite lip gloss is called Lip Maximizer by Dior.
07:27
It has collagen in it, so it gives a nice plumpness.
07:31
and it does that thing where it makes your lips
07:35
feel all tingly.
07:38
And then...
07:39
I lied, there's one last little, little, little step.
07:42
I take the highlighter that I use on my cheeks
07:45
and my inner eye and all that and I use my finger
07:49
and I just put it right in the little dip of my lip.
07:58
It's just cute.
08:03
I'm done.
08:03
So, I've told you all my secrets, but now I've gotta go.
08:07
Bye!
